Introduction

State Bank of India (SBI) through its Central Recruitment & Promotion Department invites eligible Indian citizens to apply for apprenticeship training seats under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the financial year 2026-27. A total of 7,150 provisional training seats are available across all states and union territories.

How to Apply Online

  1. Register on the NAPS portal (https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) and obtain a login ID.
  2. Visit the SBI career portal (https://www.sbi.co.in/careers) and open the “Engagement of Apprentices” online application form.
  3. Fill in all personal, educational and category details. Save the form to obtain a provisional registration number and password.
  4. Upload scanned copies of photograph, signature, left thumb impression and hand‑written declaration as per specifications.
  5. Pay the non‑refundable application fee through the integrated online payment gateway (Rs.300 for General/OBC/EWS, Nil for SC/ST/PwBD).
  6. Submit the completed application. A confirmation e‑receipt will be generated; retain it for future reference.
  7. After successful submission, download the call‑letter and “Acquaint Yourself” booklet from the SBI website using your registration number.

Important Instructions

  • Only one state can be selected; candidates may appear for the exam only once.
  • All revisions/corrigenda will be posted only on the Bank’s official website.
  • Hard copy of the application must not be sent to the Bank.
  • Candidates must ensure they meet all eligibility criteria on the date of application.
  • Fee payment must be completed before the last date; registration is considered complete only after fee receipt.
  • Category change after registration is not permitted.
  • For EWS category, an Income & Asset Certificate for FY 2025‑26 must be produced at the time of joining; otherwise, apply under General.
  • OBC candidates must submit a non‑creamy‑layer certificate dated between 01‑04‑2026 and the date of joining.
  • PwBD candidates must submit a disability certificate; horizontal reservation applies.
  • Selection is based on online written test and subsequent local‑language test; minimum aggregate marks will be decided by the Bank.
  • Negative marking of ¼ mark per wrong answer applies.
  • Merit list will be prepared state‑wise and category‑wise; ties will be broken on the basis of age (older first).
  • Only candidates who qualify the written test will be called for the local‑language test; candidates with 10th/12th marks in the language are exempted.
  • Medical fitness is mandatory for final selection.
  • Only one application per candidate is allowed; multiple submissions will lead to cancellation of all but the last valid one.
  • All candidates must keep their registered email ID and mobile number active for communication.
  • Identity proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, etc.) must be presented at the examination centre.
  • No travel expenses will be reimbursed by SBI.
  • Use of electronic devices, calculators, smart‑watches, etc., is prohibited inside the examination hall.
  • Any misconduct, impersonation or unfair means will lead to disqualification and possible legal action.
