Examination Centres
Candidates must select any three preferred examination centres while filling out the online application form for GUBEDCET 2026. However, the final allotment of the examination centre will be made by the authorities based on availability and administrative feasibility. Therefore, candidates may be assigned to any one of their selected examination centres. Applicants are advised to choose their preferred centres carefully during the online registration process, as requests for changing the examination centre after submission of the application form may not be entertained.

- All questions in GUBEDCET 2026 will be of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type. Each question will have four alternative options, out of which only one option will be correct.
- The question booklet and OMR answer sheet will be provided in English language only. The examination will be conducted in OMR-based offline mode.
- For every correct answer, candidates will be awarded 4 marks, while 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. No marks will be awarded or deducted for unanswered questions.
- The merit list will be prepared solely on the basis of marks obtained in GUBEDCET 2026.
- In case two or more candidates secure the same marks, the tie will be resolved in the following order:
- Candidate with a higher ratio of positive marks to negative marks will be given preference.
- Candidate with fewer unanswered questions will be ranked higher.
- If the tie still persists, the older candidate will be given preference.
- Reservation and relaxation benefits will be provided as per the existing rules and regulations of Gauhati University.
- Candidates must fulfill all eligibility criteria prescribed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and the concerned college/institution. Mere inclusion in the merit list does not guarantee admission if the eligibility requirements are not met.
- The application fee for GUBEDCET 2026 is ₹2,000 plus applicable bank transaction charges.
- Any matter not specifically covered in the official guidelines shall be decided by the Gauhati University authorities, and their decision will be final.
